WARRIOR the movie!

I'm a little surprised that not many in K.K. seem to realise what a great MMA movie has hit our shores recently.

WARRIOR is about the youngest son (Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nolte) returns home, where he's trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament -- a path that puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother (Edgerton).- IMD

The movie is about 2 and a half hour long, the 1st 1 hour and so are really a long build up and introduction about the 2 brothers, their past, their problems and how they both wind up in a new found MMA promotion called SPARTA.

While many would already gasp at the idea of a 1 hour plus of dialogue, the movie actually had a good script to keep you going. The movie ultimately is about family and the script plus acting delivered by the actors are very well done. My praise goes out especially to Nick Nolte for his portrayal as the father who tries so hard to make amends with his 2 sons for his past deeds.

For MMA fans, the action and the quick appearance of many real MMA personalities like the TAPOUT crew was definitely entertaining. Brazillian Jujitsu fans would also get to see & hear the names of the moves being called out; there is also poking parody of the fighter Koba & who he's suppose to portray. All these little things add up to a fan's enjoyment. Non-MMA fans however would not find the movie and moves too technical either, you can still very much enjoy it like your casual ROCKY movie so it is just as entertaining.

This movie deserves a watch & I will be looking out for the DVD as well!
