Sabah Judo Association to get veteran coach?

I saw the news posted by 1 of the Sabah Judo members which I figure is worth a share and something we should all pray for.

The Sabah Judo Association is eye-ing to get Sarawak SUKMA Judo coach Anderson Venus to come and coach the team. Negotiation are still in process & that this was on the news in the Sarawak Tribune (2nd July 2011, Sports).

"KUCHING: Sarawak Sukma Judo coach Anderson Venus has been “unofficially” approached by the Sabah Judo Association with the intention of engaging him to help guide the Sabah state team.

Anderson, who was the victorious coach - bringing home one gold one silver and one bronze from his charges in the recent Sukma - must have grown in status as he had been reached by telephone by a certain Khoo.

When reached for comments, Anderson, whose two-year contract with the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) is ending this December, may consider it if all his criteria are met - such as a team ready for him to train and also if the offer is attractive."

- Sarawak Tribune; 2nd July 2011.

I really hope the Sabah Judo team can get a coach such as Mr. Anderson Venus, Sabah is in its process to come back and make an impression in the Judo world once again after about 10 years plus hiatus. Wishing the Sabah Judokas all the best!
